Caro is an advocate and communicator with a commitment to social and environmental justice. Her proudest achievements include co-creating a storytelling foundation in a country with a high-level of government surveillance and limited free speech, inspiring a movie–through a narrative campaign–premiered at the Miami Film Festival, receiving the Effective Advocate award by Amnesty International, building a Spanish-language Communications department for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), co-producing a Know Your Rights TV Segment for Telemundo, developing a partnership with a humanitarian clown group and the United Nations to assist refugee children, volunteering as a humanitarian clown in high-risk areas, and being an improv comedian! Prior to her role as the Break Free From Plastic Global Comms Lead, she was the BFFP US Coordinator, increasing the US membership from 40 to 160 organizations in two years.
